It has been a few days since I have posted. I’ve been delinquent. With the holiday season, I have been getting ready to head home to Indianapolis for the holidays. Christmas Morning we leave for Miami to go on a cruise. While I am gone, I will not be blogging as they charge a ridiculous amount of money to use internet on a ship. I’ll take notes though and I will tell you all about it when I get back. I am interested to find out how I am going to eat LFRV on a ship when I have to have dining room dinners every night. Adventure!
I was in Houston this weekend visiting my boyfriend. I had a lot of high fat gourmet vegan food this weekend: raw veggies marinated in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and a raw carrot cake from Whole Foods, raw veggies marinated in sesame oil (as a “stir fry”) at Field of Greens, a delicious swiss chard wrap with apples, peanut butter, and ginger from the Houston Farmer’s Market, as well as bananas with fresh, raw cashew butter.

My boyfriend and I at the Ferrari Festival
I had a wonderful weekend in Houston. I always enjoy my time there (I think it’s mainly the company).
I got down there Thursday night. My boyfriend picked me up from the airport, and we went straight to a club in Houston Midtown called 5th Amendment for my boyfriend’s friend’s birthday.

I know I have been AWOL for the past few days and I apologize to my few, but loyal readers for the lack of information. I was in Cincinnati for work on Thursday and flew to Houston to see my boyfriend right after work. I had a great weekend and managed to eat quite well.
Friday started off great with some apples for breakfast. Lunch was a stop at Cafe Express for a chef salad without the croutons, cheese or creamy parmesan dressing. I added olive oil for dressing. It was quite tasty. Dinner was Mongolian barbecue at Genghis Grill, where they kindly cooked my meal on a special grill to avoid contamination with gluten or soy. I love stir fry, and it was a great place for both of us. He could have his steak and I could have my veggies. Everyone was happy.
Saturday started with watermelon for breakfast. I literally cut the watermelon in half and grabbed a spoon. It was delicious. We had lunch at a vegan restaurant in Houston called Pepper Tree. Pepper Tree offers buffet-style dining of mostly asian cuisine. I had the vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free white rice and purple rice sushi with avocado, carrots, and cucumber. It was delicious. And, though he would never admit it in public, my boyfriend enjoyed it as well, which is saying something as he is nearly a complete carnivore. Dinner was pecans and bananas.
